New SEA rep pays courtesy call to Thai Rice Department Director General

24 February, Bangkok - Dr. Yurdi Yasmi, IRRI’s new Regional Representative for Southeast Asia, made a courtesy call to Mr. Sudsakorn Pattarakulnit, the Director General of Thailand Rice Department (TRD).
During the meeting, the DG expressed his high appreciation to IRRI for a fruitful 60-year collaboration with Thailand and reiterated the importance of Thailand’s rice sector not just locally but internationally.

Dr. Yasmi thanked the DG and his senior staff, also present at the meeting, for welcoming him warmly as the new Regional Representative. He emphasized the commitment of IRRI to collaborate with Thailand through TRD, building upon long-established foundations. He also thanked the DG for his continued support to IRRI.
